Platform presents a day of activity aimed at young people equity meaning in economics. Eoin McKenzie began his relationship with Platform at just 9 years old when he joined a drama group that became the venue’s youth group Lab Station binary translator to text. Now aged 19, he has joined forces with Platform’s Artistic Associate, Louise Brodie to curate this event.

Eoin states “Towards the end of 2013, I became really interested in ideas surrounding gender norms, gender presentation and performance as well as just the relationship society has with gender.


This interest of mine then informed what started the process for Lab Station’s show I Am What I Am which was a performance exploring all of these things, heavily inspired by pop culture and balls and runways.

The dialogue that the show became involved in felt really important and something that we wished to continue in a bigger way, that then lead to us deciding to host a day of gender; a day where we could discuss, question and play with ideas surrounding it stock market futures fair value.
